Job summary

Expedia Group in Austin, TX is seeking an Enterprise AI Engineer III to own design, engineering and automation of our cloud infrastructure and enterprise AI systems. You will work at the intersection of platform engineering and AI, driving architecture, IaC and patterns across teams.

You'll mentor engineers, define SLOs, observability, and automation strategies while ensuring security, scalability, and cost awareness. The role offers a collaborative environment with flexible, supportive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or enterprise systems engineering.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; technical degree preferred.
• Growth mindset and ability to own initiatives end-to-end across multiple teams.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud IaaS and IaC automation, building reusable modules and policy-as-code.
• Proficiency in Python or Go and building automation to reduce toil and forecast capacity.
• Experience designing integration architectures for SaaS or enterprise systems, including security and compliance.
• Experience defining SLOs and observability solutions to drive improvements.
• Solid AI/ML literacy with knowledge of LLMs, RAG, and AI-assisted operations.

Responsibilities

• Own service and integration architecture for AI platforms and enterprise systems — security, cost-efficiency, operability.
• Design reusable IaC modules and automation frameworks; enforce policy-as-code and reduce toil.
• Lead incident resolution, RCA, and post-incident analysis across teams.
• Design integration architectures connecting internal platforms and SaaS systems; ensure security and scalability.
• Define SLOs and engineer observability — telemetry pipelines, tests, alerts.
• Mentor junior engineers; document architecture decisions and standards.
• Forecast capacity and cost impacts; surface data-driven recommendations for infra investments.
