Job summary

LPL Financial seeks a Principal Architect, AI to design, build, and govern a centralized AI Hub platform. You will define end-to-end enterprise AI architecture, covering model access, agent orchestration, prompt and tool governance, data access, security, observability and compliance.

Partner with security, data, product, and infra teams to enable responsible, scalable AI adoption across the organization. The role emphasizes leading POCs, implementing MLOps/LLMOps, and shaping AI governance,

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Enterprise Architecture, Software/Platform Architecture or Distributed Systems.
• 3+ years designing and implementing AI/Generative AI or Agentic AI platforms.
• 5+ years with cloud-native architectures, APIs, microservices, and scalable distributed apps.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead LPL's Enterprise AI Hub Platform with centralized AI capabilities.
• Establish a shared AI platform for model access, agent orchestration, prompt management, and governance.
• Define reference architectures for Generative AI, Agentic AI, RAG, MCP, and Multi-Agent solutions.
• Design and govern core platform services: Registries, Gateway, Audit, and Compliance.
• Lead data access layer governance for secure, scalable AI data sources and privacy controls.
• Drive POC, spikes, and production-ready implementations of AI platform capabilities.
• Oversee AI Platform Engineering, MLOps, and LLMOps onboarding, deployment, and lifecycle management.
• Define onboarding standards for agents, AI interoperability, and model governance.
• Embed security-by-design: RBAC, PII protection, guardrails, and auditability.
• Ensure enterprise security, risk, regulatory, and responsible AI compliance.
• Govern observability, usage analytics, lineage, and cost management for AI workloads.
• Evaluate enterprise technologies for foundation models, gateways, and AI governance platforms.
• Lead migration from siloed AI to scalable enterprise AI ecosystem.
• Collaborate with EA, Engineering, Security, Data, and Product to align AI strategy.
