Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an exceptionally experienced, hands-on full-stack engineer to define and build the next generation of AI-powered enterprise workflows. You will take on the hardest and most ambiguous problems in the Technology vertical, translating real customer needs into product direction and shipping production-ready code across the stack.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building production software and leading complex engineering efforts.
• Ability to independently architect and implement systems across frontend, backend, APIs, data, and enterprise integrations.
• Experience shipping applied AI, agentic, or conversational products with reliability considerations.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for role-specific enterprise AI experiences across ChatGPT Work surfaces, services, plugins, and connectors.
• Translate ambiguous customer and design-partner needs into a clear product and technical strategy with milestones and architectural decisions.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and align senior stakeholders to drive decisions through to implementation.
• Architect production-grade systems with evaluated security, observability, and rollout standards.
• Own the complete product and engineering lifecycle from problem definition to sustained iteration.
• Define durable technical contracts and fallback strategies across connectors, identity, and enterprise data; promote reusable patterns.
