Job summary

Swingtech in Washington, DC seeks a Lead AI Engineer / Architect to serve as the senior technical authority for an enterprise AI program. This hybrid role requires on-site three days per week with US citizenship eligible for clearance.

You will lead AI solution architecture, engineering direction, security and compliance alignment, and production delivery across the full lifecycle, including Responsible AI, MCP, and model governance.

Qualifications

• Seven years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Direct delivery of AI-enabled systems.
• Two years of hands-on experience with Generative AI/LLM/RAG/Agentic AI.
• Experience architecting secure Federal AI solutions.
• Knowledge of FedRAMP, NIST, AI governance and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, integration, deployment and technical oversight of secure enterprise AI solutions.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership for AI engineering, development, integration, testing and production support.
• Define and maintain AI engineering standards, architecture patterns and reusable delivery approaches.
• Design and integrate MCP server components.
• Architect governed agentic/multi-agent AI workflows with human oversight.
• Guide Generative AI, LLM, RAG, vector search, AI automation capabilities.
• Ensure solutions run in government environments or open standards without extra licenses.
• Oversee AI data architecture, cloud integration, APIs, vector databases, MLOps and monitoring.
• Lead Responsible AI activities, model cards, bias/fairness evaluations and HIL controls.
• Lead security reviews, release-readiness and ATO documentation under NIST/NIST 800-53 controls.
• Support Section 508 and WCAG accessibility requirements.
• Mentor and guide engineering and program stakeholders.
