Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced AI Architect to define enterprise AI/ML architectures across RTX. You will partner with business units, product teams, engineering, and cybersecurity to translate complex needs into scalable, secure AI designs.

The ideal candidate blends deep AI/ML expertise with software, data, cloud, and enterprise architecture experience, driving reusable capabilities and reducing complexity across RTX business units.

Qualifications

• A University Degree in Computer Science, AI, Engineering, or related STEM with 10+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 7+ years.
• 5+ years designing, developing, integrating, or architecting AI/ML solutions, including production deployments.
• Experience as a technical architect, solution architect, or senior engineer for complex enterprise software, data, cloud, or AI/ML systems.
• Experience with AI/ML systems and modern AI architectures, including Generative AI and large language models.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end architectures for enterprise AI and ML solutions across data, apps, APIs, platforms, and security contexts.
• Partner with business and technology leaders to translate opportunities into architecture blueprints and roadmaps.
• Determine approaches for complex problems, including traditional software, ML, Generative AI, and agentic AI.
• Develop reusable reference architectures, design patterns, and guardrails across RTX units.
• Architect AI solutions including model selection, routing, grounding, context engineering, and tool use.
• Define AI/ML data pipelines, model serving, lifecycle mgmt, and MLOps across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments.
• Evaluate tech options and guide build/buy/configure decisions for value, security, and scalability.
• Lead architecture reviews and mentor engineering teams.
