Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced AI Architect to define and guide enterprise AI/ML architectures across RTX’s business units. You will partner with business and engineering teams to translate needs into scalable, secure designs and reusable patterns that accelerate adoption

The role requires deep AI/ML expertise, strong software and cloud experience, and the ability to lead technical decisions across complex, multi‑disciplined teams in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• A University Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or related STEM discipline with a minimum of 10 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree with at least 7 years of experience.
• Minimum 5 years designing, developing, integrating, or architecting AI/ML solutions, including production deployments.
• Experience as a technical architect, solution architect, lead engineer, or senior engineer for complex enterprise software, data, cloud, or AI/ML systems.
• Technical experience with AI/ML systems and modern AI application architectures, including Generative AI and large language models.
• Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and data pipelines using major public cloud platforms.
• Ability to translate business requirements into architecture designs while evaluating tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end architectures for enterprise AI/ML solutions across data, apps, APIs, and platforms.
• Collaborate with business and technology leaders to translate opportunities into architecture blueprints and roadmaps.
• Determine the best technical approach for complex problems, including traditional software, ML, Generative AI, or hybrid solutions.
• Develop reusable reference architectures, patterns, and guardrails to accelerate RTX adoption and reduce duplication.
• Architect AI solutions including model selection, data pipelines, memory, orchestration, and secure integration.
• Define patterns for AI/ML data pipelines, model serving, MLOps, and lifecycle across cloud, hybrid, and on‑prem environments.
• Evaluate technology options and lead buy/build/ integrate decisions with security, cost, and operability in mind.
• Lead architecture reviews and provide mentorship across engineering teams.
