Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced AI Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate reusable software and runtime capabilities for enterprise AI. This hands-on role emphasizes production platform capabilities, working with AI architects and application teams to enable secure, scalable AI across RTX.

You will collaborate with Cybersecurity, Data, and product teams to deliver secure, reusable capabilities and accelerate AI adoption across RTX business units.

Qualifications

• A University Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related STEM discipline with 8+ years of experience, or an Advanced Degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Min 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience developing backend services, APIs, or distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud-native engineering including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate scalable backend services and APIs for enterprise AI applications.
• Build AI platform capabilities including model access, routing, gateways, and tool integration.
• Develop secure identity, authentication, and authorization capabilities and secrets management.
• Design and automate deployment across dev, test, prod using cloud-native technologies and IaC.
• Build observability with logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring, and cost visibility for AI workloads.
• Develop platform capabilities for AI evaluation, MLOps, and model lifecycle management.
• Ensure platform services meet scalability, availability, resilience, and security requirements.
• Collaborate with AI Architecture, Applied AI, and Cybersecurity teams to translate needs into reusable platform capabilities.
