Job summary

Duke Energy is hiring an Engineering Technologist III to provide advanced technical support and leadership in a specific engineering area. The role involves solving complex problems, overseeing work, and developing independence in technical tasks.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology with 2+ years of experience, or 4+ years with an Associate degree, or 6+ years without a degree. Some field visits and travel are expected in a hybrid mobility environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Engineering Technology or 4+ years experience with an associate degree
• 6+ years of equivalent experience without a degree acceptable

Responsibilities

• Provides deep technical expertise and guidance in problem identification, analysis and resolution
• Plans, organizes, estimates, schedules and monitors work activities to meet goals
• Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, calculations and sketches
• Conducts engineering and related studies
• Continuously improves job-related, technical and professional knowledge and performance
• Develops positive working relationships to coordinate work activities
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
• Maintains accurate records and files
• Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally
