Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology with 2+ years of relevant experience, or 4+ years with an Associate Degree.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology is desirable
• Has a valid driver's license
• Electric Utility Distribution experience, especially with customer-facing design work
• Experience with Damage Assessment during storms
• Comfortable working safely in the field as lone worker
• Experience with customers and construction crews
• Experience using Work Order Design Tools (DesignLite, BOUD, Maximo, SEDS, AutoCAD)

Responsibilities

• Provides deep technical expertise and guidance in problem identification, analysis and resolution.
• Ensures accomplishment of goals through planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring work activities.
• Independently prepares technical reports, correspondence, calculations and sketches.
• Conducts engineering studies and related analyses.

The Engineering Technologist III position is the third level of the non-Engineer degreed technical support role. An Engineering Technologist III provides technical expertise to solve more complex problems and leadership skills to provide oversight and direction of work in a specific area of expertise, with some supervision. Employees in the Engineering Technologist III position are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with a high degree of independence.

Responsibilities

• Provides deep technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise,
• Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities,
• Independently prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches,
• Conducts engineering and related studies,

Basic/Required Qualifications (Engineering Technologist III)

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology and 2+ years of relevant experience, or 4+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 6+ years equivalent experience without a degree.

• Has a valid driver's license
