Job summary

The State of Hawaiʻi seeks an Engineering Technician VI to support professional engineering functions and potentially supervise a small team. The role offers a monthly salary between $4,563 and $5,768, SR-17, Step C - I, with consideration given to funds, qualifications, and other factors.

Under general supervision, the incumbent performs complex technical duties and will be part of a continuous recruitment that may close at any time.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from high school, or equivalent, with courses in mathematics.
Engineering-Support Experience: Four (4) years in engineering-oriented functions requiring engineering terminology and mathematical problem solving.
Engineering Technician VI level: At least one year of Engineering-Support Experience comparable to Engineering Aid IV or two years comparable to Engineering Aid III in the State service.
Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions described in Minimum Qualification Requirements apply.
Driver's License: Some positions require a valid driver's license at appointment.
Special Requirements: Ability to lift and carry items of various weights.

Responsibilities

Level VI performs complex sub-professional technical duties in support of professional engineering functions under general supervision; may supervise a small group of lower-level personnel.
The position involves applying engineering principles in construction, operation and maintenance contexts.
