Qualifications

• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Graduation from high school, or equivalent, with courses in mathematics.
• Four (4) years of work experience in engineering‑oriented functions requiring engineering terminology knowledge and math skills.
• For Engineering Technician V: at least one year at Engineering Aid IV level or two years at Engineering Aid III level in State government.
• Engineering Aid IV: performs standardized, non‑professional engineering tasks under general supervision.
• Engineering Aid III: performs routine technical, non‑professional engineering tasks under general supervision.
• Supervisory aptitude is required for positions with supervisory duties.
• Substitutions as described in the minimum qualification requirements will apply.
• Some positions require a valid driver’s license at appointment.

Responsibilities

• Apply principles, methods and techniques in a specific area of engineering and support higher-level activities.
• Under supervision, perform moderately difficult sub‑professional engineering tasks; may lead a small group of aides.
• Assist in inspection, testing, designing, surveying, drafting, and construction as needed.
