Job summary

State of Hawaii invites applications for Engineering Technician VI in the Civil Service. Working under supervision, you will apply engineering knowledge to support professional functions across inspection, testing, drafting, surveying and construction tasks in a government setting.

You may supervise a small group of engineering aids and technicians of lower level and handle duties as required, contributing to project progress, accuracy, and timely delivery within a formal public sector structure.

Qualifications

• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent with mathematics courses.
• Four years of engineering-support experience in inspection, testing, designing, surveying, drafting, and construction.
• At least one year at Engineering Aid IV level or two years at Engineering Aid III level in the State service.
• Supervisory aptitude is required for supervisory positions.
• Substitutions described in the minimum qualifications apply.
• Some positions require a valid driver's license.
• Some positions require the ability to lift and carry items.

• Under supervision, Level VI performs complex sub-professional technical duties in support of engineering functions.
• May supervise a small group of engineering aids and technicians of lower level.
• Performs other duties as required.
