Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent with coursework in mathematics.
• Engineering-Support Experience: four years in engineering-oriented functions, including inspection, testing, designing, surveying, drafting, or construction.
• For the Engineering Technician VI level, at least one year of the required Engineering-Support Experience must have been comparable to the Engineering Aid IV level, or two years of experience comparable to the Engineering Aid III level in the State service.
• Supervisory aptitude is required for positions that supervise, demonstrated through assignments with leadership responsibilities or formal supervision.

• Some positions require a valid driver's license at the time of appointment; current vacancies have this requirement.
• Some positions require the ability to lift and carry items of various weights with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles, methods and techniques in a specific or limited area of engineering.
• Under general supervision, Level VI performs a variety of complex sub-professional technical duties in support of professional engineering functions; may supervise a small group of engineering aids and technicians of lower level; and performs other duties as required.
• Maintain knowledge of the construction, operation, and limitations of engineering systems and related tools and processes.
