Job summary

NAVFAC NORTHWEST seeks a Lead Engineering Technician to join the FACILITIES SUPPORT CONTRACTS (FSC) BRANCH, overseeing QA inspections and constructability reviews for complex military shore infrastructure projects in the Pacific Northwest.

You will mentor teams, interpret federal specs, evaluate construction progress, and collaborate with military stakeholders, design engineers, contracting officers, and prime contractors to ensure on-time, compliant project delivery and turnover.

Qualifications

• Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
• Leading, directing, or mentoring technical field teams, engineering technicians, or inspection personnel in performing multidisciplinary QA inspections and comprehensive constructability reviews on complex military shore infrastructure, waterfront, airfield, or naval facilities projects.
• Interpreting and enforcing federal construction specifications and safety regulations across active project sites.
• Evaluating construction progress, analyzing site deviations or design deficiencies, verifying contractor compliance against drawings and contract terms and resolving complex technical and field engineering challenges.
• Collaborating with military stakeholders, design engineers, contracting officers, and prime contractors to facilitate on-time, compliant project delivery and turnover.

Responsibilities

• Conduct monthly reviews and updates of project status, quality control assessments and program evaluations with FMFS Branch Head.
• Distribute and balance workload among employees in accordance with established work flow or job specialization and assure timely accomplishment of the assigned workload.
• Maintain program and administrative reference materials, project files, and relevant back-ground documents and make available policies, procedures and written instructions.
• Ensure that organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the ET's and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services.
