Job summary

Potawatomi Defense Operations, LLC is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineering Technician to provide on-site construction QA and safety oversight for NAVFAC Northwest projects at Silverdale, WA. The role focuses on inspecting workmanship, reviewing plans, documenting performance, and supporting government construction management.

The position requires a strong background in construction inspection, EM 385-1-1/OSHA knowledge, and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years as construction inspector or tradesperson.
• Experience supporting NAVFAC or USACE Capital Improvements are required (1 year).
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and workmanship.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Experience performing inspections and maintaining official construction records.
• Knowledge of EM 385-1-1, OSHA and federal safety standards.
• Knowledge of UFGS/federal construction requirements.
• Experience with material takeoffs and change-condition estimating support.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily construction inspections and QA observations.
• Verify conformance with contract drawings, specs, and submittals.
• Inspect materials, workmanship, equipment, and installed systems.
• Monitor contractor QC and safety programs.
• Identify deficiencies and document non-compliant construction.
• Prepare daily inspection and QA reports; maintain records and photos.
• Review RFIs and submittals; provide technical recommendations.
• Witness testing and acceptance of construction systems.
• Coordinate with contractors, CMs, engineers, designers, and government reps.
• Support punch-list, warranty, acceptance, and closeout activities.
