Job summary

General Dynamics IT seeks an Engineering Technician V to support waterfront shipboard construction and re-modernization in U.S. naval shipyards. You will install, maintain, repair and test electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment aboard ships, and work with engineering staff to solve design problems.

Requirements include an Associate of Arts/Science and 8+ years of related experience, U.S. citizenship, and Seattle, WA location.

• Associates of Arts/Associates of Science required.
• 8+ years of related experience.
• US Citizenship required.
• Location: Customer Site – Seattle, WA.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, modifies, constructs and tests electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment and related devices.
• Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles to put equipment in operational condition.
• Troubleshoots and corrects malfunctions using specialized test equipment.
• Modifies circuitry to improve performance.
• Provides operation and maintenance instruction to customer personnel.
• Prepares operating and malfunction reports and related documentation.
• Works with engineering staff to determine and solve equipment design problems.
• Performs quality assurance testing of assemblies and equipment.
