Job summary

General Dynamics IT seeks an Engineering Technician V for waterfront shipboard construction and re-modernization. You will work in shipyards and drydocks onboard U.S. Naval ships, performing electrical, electronic, and mechanical tasks in varying temperatures and conditions.

The role requires 8+ years of related experience and an Associate degree. US citizenship is required and duties include mentorship of junior technicians and QA testing of assemblies.

Qualifications

• Education: Associates of Arts/Associates of Science.
• Required Experience: 8+ years of related experience.
• Security Clearance Level: None.
• Location: Customer Site.
• US Citizenship Required.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, modifies, constructs and tests electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment.
• Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles to put equipment in operational condition.
• Troubleshoots malfunctions using specialized test and diagnostic equipment.
• Modifies circuitry to improve performance and provides operation instructions to customer personnel.
• Prepares operating and malfunction reports and collaborates with engineering staff on design problems.
• Performs quality assurance testing of assemblies and equipment.
• Provides work leadership to less-experienced technicians and may supervise.
• Participates in special projects as required.
