Job summary

NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC in Tallahassee, FL is seeking an experienced CMT Engineering Technician/ICC Special Inspector to join our local team. You will perform field materials testing and inspections on soil, concrete, masonry, rebar, and asphalt, and prepare detailed reports.

You will read plans, evaluate site conditions, communicate with clients and contractors, and contribute to project quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Requires ACI Level I Concrete and ICC Reinforced Concrete/Masonry certification.
• Minimum 2 years field experience on construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs and safety rules.
• Ability to perform field and lab calculations and estimate quantities.

Job description

NOVA Engineering has an exciting opportunity for an experienced CMT Engineering Technician/ICC Special Inspector to join our Tallahassee, FL team.

Responsibilities:

• Performing field materials testing of soil, concrete, masonry, rebar, asphalt


• Preparing detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and inspections/observations provided


• Performing basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete and preparing reports of results


• Evaluating site and subgrade conditions on construction projects and providing recommendations


• Communicating with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues

Qualifications:

• ACI Level I Concrete and/or ICC Reinforced Concrete/Masonry is required


• 2+ years experience required


• Ability to learn to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


• Ability to apply basic mathematical formulas and concepts to calculate quantities, estimate volumes, inspect constructed work, make recommendations in the field and to perform calculations for field and laboratory tests and equipment.


• Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 70 pounds on a regular basis
