Job summary

NOVA Engineering is seeking an experienced CMT Engineering Technician/ICC Special Inspector for our Tallahassee, FL team. The role involves field testing of soils, concrete, masonry, rebar, and asphalt, plus reporting test results and inspections to clients.

Responsibilities include basic lab tests, evaluating site conditions, and providing field recommendations. Strong reading of plans/specs and safety rules is required, along with 2+ years of relevant experience and necessary certifications.

Qualifications

• ACI Level I Concrete and/or ICC Reinforced Concrete/Masonry required.
• 2+ years of experience in testing/inspection.
• Ability to read plans, specs, safety rules, and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for field and lab tests.

NOVA Engineeringhas anexciting opportunity for an experienced CMT Engineering Technician/ICC Special Inspector to join our Tallahassee, FL team.

Responsibilities:

• Performing field materials testing of soil, concrete, masonry, rebar, asphalt
• Preparing detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and inspections/observations provided
• Performing basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete and preparing reports of results
• Evaluating site and subgrade conditions on construction projects and providing recommendations
• Communicating with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues

Qualifications:

• ACI Level I Concrete and/or ICC Reinforced Concrete/Masonryis required
• 2+ years experience required
• Ability to learn to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical formulas and concepts to calculate quantities, estimate volumes, inspect constructed work, make recommendations in the field and to perform calculations for field and laboratory tests and equipment.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 70 pounds on a regular basis
