Job summary

Insight Global in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to join a fast-paced New Product Development team responsible for electro-mechanical products, robotics, and automated test equipment.

You will support engineers through prototype fabrication, assembly, testing, and data collection, using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators to verify designs and contribute to design iterations.

Qualifications

• AA in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, or related field
• 4-6+ years of hands-on technician experience in engineering, manufacturing, R&D, or product development
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and other test instrumentation
• Experience building and troubleshooting cable assemblies and electronic systems
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
• Experience supporting prototype builds, engineering testing, and product development activities; strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician for a leading technology and manufacturing organization in Carlsbad, CA. This opportunity offers the chance to work within a New Product Development environment supporting the creation of innovative electro-mechanical products, robotics systems, automation platforms, and specialized test equipment.

This individual will be responsible for supporting engineers through all phases of product development, including prototype fabrication, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, validation, and data collection. The Senior Engineering Technician will help build and modify prototype hardware, assemble and test electronic systems and cable harnesses, execute engineering test plans, and provide detailed feedback to support design improvements.

The ideal candidate is highly hands-on, enjoys working in a fast-paced development environment, and has strong experience troubleshooting electrical and electro-mechanical systems. This role requires the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation while utilizing diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.

Preferred Qualifications

• Altium or similar electrical design software experience
