Job summary

MillenniumSoft Inc. in San Diego, CA seeks a Mechanical Engineering Technician II for a 12-month contract, 40 hours/week, first shift.

You will support engineers, operate test equipment, and prepare reports and data from lab tests to inform product development. Responsibilities include gathering and formatting technical data, assisting with test protocols, training on equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation of results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical discipline preferred for advanced roles.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and follow detailed procedures.
• Experience with laboratory data, documentation and reporting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis.
• Gathers, formats, compiles and manipulates technical data, such as lab results and engineering changes; documents drawings and flow charts.
• Assist Engineers in creating, modifying, and testing products and processes; operate and maintain test equipment.
• Use hand tools to build and set-up equipment using drawings and documentation; collect data with measurement equipment.
• Execute designed test protocols and conduct testing; organize lab functions and test equipment.
• Communicate results effectively to supervisor; notify manager of factors that may affect project.

pay rate-$20-25/hr

Description

• Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis
• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Products engineering document, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams and schematics)
• Help scope equipment for use and complete qualifications
• Assist Engineers as they create, modify, and test products and processes
• Operate and maintain test equipment
• Use typical hand tools to build and set-up equipment using drawings and other documentation
• Use complex measurement equipment to collect and record data
• Execution of designed test protocol and conduct testing
• Works with team to organize lab functions & test equipment
• Notifies manager upon recognition of factors that may affect project
• Effective documentation and communication of test results
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED
• A combination of equivalent education and experience or a minimum of training beyond high school or secondary school in a technical discipline with more than 2 years relevant experience or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
• Experience using test equipment such as an Instron for tensile and compression testing
• Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity of electro-mechanical devices
• Proficiency with personal computers
• Experience using MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint
• Ability to understand and perform designed test procedures
• Good organizational skills
• Good communication skills
• Ability to follow directions and effectively execute written and verbal instructions

Preferred Qualifications And Experience

• BA or BS
• Ability to train lower level technicians and operators
• Experience working in cross-functional teams
