Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking an Engineering Support Technologist for the Active Ceramics manufacturing floor. You will act as the primary technical interface between the production floor and the engineering team, overseeing processing, training, materials, and tooling for characterization and testing.

On-site work is required. The role includes monitoring process health, diagnosing nonconformances, updating procedures, training operators, maintaining lab spaces, and contributing to

Qualifications

• High school diploma + 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
• Ability to create, update, and maintain technical work documentation such as procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor process health and identify yield improvements or reduce span time.
• Diagnose nonconformances and implement corrective/preventive actions; report stoppages.
• Own and update technical work documentation (work instructions, procedures, safety data packages).
• Oversee operator training and process qualification in assigned area.
• Maintain laboratory space, signage, inventory, and calibrated assets; install/maintain equipment.
• Understand equipment needs for characterization and testing of ceramic materials.
• Participate in quality, safety, or security walkdowns and implement corrective actions.
• Support Root Cause Analyses and problem-solving efforts.
