Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an Assembly Process Engineer to join the Active Ceramics Value Stream. You will oversee assembly and inspection processes and equipment used to manufacture ceramic components, in a hands-on production environment.

The role focuses on on-time delivery, quality, process health, and continuous improvement, with collaboration across the team. Domestic relocation assistance and robust benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five years of directly relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance.
• Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day assembly/inspection processes to ensure on-time delivery and high quality.
• Diagnose process nonconformances and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Maintain written work instructions and train staff as needed.
• Oversee technicians and operators in area of responsibility.
• Pursue continuous improvement opportunities across the Active Ceramics Manufacturing Operations.
