Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in West Point, PA is seeking a Sr. Specialist to design and optimize manufacturing facilities and processes using Lean and MPS principles.

You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective designs and mentor junior staff. The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing/engineering, strong problem solving, and the ability to influence leaders and shop floor teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing, engineering or consulting environments.
• Hands-on Lean tools and techniques: standardized work, problem solving, value stream mapping, 5S.
• Lean/MPS thinking and ability to influence across levels of the business.
• Experience coaching and transferring Lean methods to project teams.
• Experience in vaccines/pharma or sterile environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and improve process and facility designs on assigned projects.
• Lead FEL 0–3 workstreams and Start-up Readiness in collaboration with project teams.
• Coach and transfer Lean skills; lead workshops and relationship building with teams.
• Engage stakeholders at all levels to meet highest standards of operability.
• Manage resources, mitigate risk, and drive on-time project delivery.
• Mentor teams on effective communication and continuous improvement.
