Motional is seeking a Senior Manager for Test Engineering to lead five Test Engineering areas and its senior managers. You will own talent planning, drive performance, and coordinate with HR while aligning with company objectives on a three-to-six-month horizon.

You will set direction, remove blockers, and ensure high-quality results through collaboration with Product, Software Engineering, Safety, and adjacent functions. The role emphasizes people leadership and strategy.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience managing engineering teams, including experience managing other managers or senior leads.
• A track record of owning team results, headcount and priority tradeoffs, and goals tied to organizational objectives.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including presentations to senior leadership.
• Sound judgment on performance, staffing, and cross-team conflict.
• Working familiarity with test engineering in complex, safety-relevant systems.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the managers and senior individual contributors responsible for the five Test Engineering areas.
• Coach those leaders so they can develop their own people and name stretch opportunities.
• Address performance issues in partnership with HR and handle difficult conversations.
• Own talent planning for the organization: hiring, onboarding, retention of critical knowledge, skill gaps, and backup coverage.
• Recommend compensation, merit, and promotions for your teams.
• Build an engaged team and communicate a clear view of the org’s objectives.
• Set goals across all areas that roll up to company and department objectives.
• Plan and lead delivery on a three-to-six-month horizon and adjust when scope changes.
• Keep multiple strategic and tactical efforts moving toward shared objectives.
• Run an operating rhythm showing status, risk, and blockers.
• Guide teams to remove blockers and escalate when needed.
• Use company policy to make decisions and involve Legal/HR/Procurement when necessary.
• Manage change and stakeholder impact.
