Job summary

Collins Aerospace in the SDS program, based in Binghamton, NY, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead mechanical and electrical disciplines across DoD programs. You will drive design, development, integration and support, ensuring performance, safety, cost and schedule goals are met.

The role requires strong technical leadership, project management, and the ability to guide multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with 10 years of experience or an advanced degree with 7 years of experience.
• Strong background in mechanical and/or electrical system design.
• Experience leading technical teams and managing cross-functional projects.
• Self-motivated leader fostering a positive, accountable team culture.
• Clear communication, prioritization, and analytical abilities.
• Active transferable U.S. government security clearance required before start.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Direct planning, execution, and validation of engineering work.
• Lead engineering reviews and ensure compliance with standards and safety requirements.
• Provide guidance for proposals, capture activities, and credible content.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management.
• Manage resources, schedules, and priorities across multiple projects.
• Apply project management methods for transparency and predictable outcomes.
• Lead root-cause analysis and data-driven decision making.
