Job summary

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, seeks a Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Manager for the SDS team in Binghamton, NY. You will lead a multidisciplinary group responsible for design, development, integration, and support of mechanical and electrical systems for DoD programs, ensuring technical excellence, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
• Strong background in mechanical and/or electrical system design.
• Previous experience in leading technical teams and managing cross-functional projects.
• Highly self-motivated leader capable of fostering a positive, accountable team culture.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

• Make hiring and staffing decisions, conduct performance management, address personnel matters, and build a highly engaged, high-performing engineering team.

• Lead proposal and capture activities, ensuring credible, executable engineering content.
• Work with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to support new products and process improvements.
• Translate technical requirements into actionable plans across disciplines.
• Own resource allocation, schedules, and priorities; manage Earned Value Management and risk.
• Lead root-cause analysis and data-driven decision making to resolve issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and methodologies.
