The role emphasizes guiding technical decisions, reviewing detailed designs, and coaching engineers while ensuring project delivery and product quality. Collaboration with manufacturing, quality, and sales is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Progressive product design engineering experience with complex decisions.
• Leadership experience managing people and multiple projects.
• Experience with mechanical design, CAD, GD&T, tolerances, and verification.
• Strong communication with customers, teams, and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team, establish priorities, allocate resources, and manage project commitments.
• Provide hands-on technical direction for product architecture, mechanical design, materials selection, tolerances, and verification.
• Lead design reviews; challenge assumptions and resolve technical risks before release.
• Translate requirements into clear engineering specifications and validation plans.
• Oversee drawings, BOMs, design calculations, changes, and product release.
• Collaborate with sales and customers on feasibility, requirements, proposals, and custom solutions.
• Work with manufacturing and quality to improve manufacturability and address field issues.
• Build engineering capability through coaching and consistent project management practices.
