Job summary

Monzo is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead across multiple squads in an org of 20–30 people. You will grow and build new squads, reporting to Engineering leadership and guiding tech leads, engineers, and managers.

You’ll drive delivery and technical excellence, develop your direct reports, and partner with product and data teams to achieve strategic outcomes while embracing Monzo’s flexible, UK-wide approach.

Qualifications

• Experience as a software engineer in prior roles is expected.
• Proven ability to lead teams of managers (2–3 Engineering Managers) and large engineering orgs (~20 engineers).
• Strong technical and delivery background with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support, coach and develop team members through regular feedback.
• Partner with senior engineers to drive initiatives and raise engineering standards.
