Job summary

Monzo is hiring Engineering Managers to lead cross-functional teams and own delivery across platforms in the UK. You will supervise groups of engineers, partner with product and tech leads, and drive technical initiatives while maintaining a high standard of engineering excellence.

The role spans Platform, Core App, and Expansion, with flexible working options within the UK, relocation support, visa sponsorship, and a learning budget.

Qualifications

• Experience as a software engineer with strong delivery background.
• Ability to operate with ambiguity and autonomy in complex problems.
• Delivery experience guiding squads to outcomes.
• Focus on outcomes over processes and scale impact.

Responsibilities

• Take accountability for delivery across your squad(s), collaborating with the Technical Lead and Product Manager.
• Actively foster a high bar for engineering excellence within your teams and mentor engineers.
• Initially lead a group of around 7-10 engineers and coach them through regular 1:1s and feedback.
• Partner with senior engineers to drive technical initiatives that raise engineering standards.
• Lead communication with stakeholders and create focus space for engineers to do their best work.
• Collaborate with the wider engineering organisation to share best practices and standards.
