Job summary

WEX is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Corporate Payments Engineering organization. You will lead the EnCompass platform team, shaping the architectural roadmap and driving cross-team collaboration to deliver customer-facing UIs, APIs, webhooks and data streams.

You will hire and grow high-performing engineers, foster innovation, and ensure strong security/compliance practices while aligning with business goals and customer needs. This is a high-impact, fast-paced leadership role.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software engineering with 4+ years in engineering management.
• Experience deploying internal and external services on AWS or Azure.
• Strong automation and testing expertise (unit, component, integration).
• Security and compliance in cloud and data environments.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Thrives in fast-paced environments with ambiguity.
• Experience with distributed teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a long-term vision and strategy for Corporate Payments services.
• Define an architectural roadmap for the EnCompass platform aligned with business goals.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Reduce time-to-market through efficient engineering practices.
• Collaborate with other Corporate Payments teams to reuse practices.
• Build, manage, and grow high-performance engineering teams; hire and retain top talent.
• Partner with product and commercial teams to prioritize customer requirements.
• Drive planning and auditing of monthly, weekly, and quarterly workstreams.
• Provide career growth plans and regular feedback to engineers.
