Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager in San Mateo, CA to lead a high-caliber team building core data infrastructure, identity, measurement, audience targeting, and ML feature pipelines for ads.

You will drive technical direction, hire and coach engineers, and collaborate with product, data science, privacy/legal, and broader Ads teams to deliver scalable, privacy-aware solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with leadership exposure.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale distributed data systems.
• Experience managing engineers, hiring and performance reviews.
• Strong collaboration with product, data science and privacy teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of engineers focused on data infrastructure and ML feature pipelines.
• Set a multi-quarter technical roadmap and prioritize buy-vs-build decisions.
• Partner with product, data science, privacy/legal and Ads teams to translate goals into plans.
• Raise engineering quality, ensure reliability and operational excellence at scale.
• Champion privacy-by-design and responsible data handling throughout systems.
