Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams building and operating high-scale backend infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with architecture discussion experience around caching, distributed systems, observability and reliability.
• Experience with realtime messaging systems or event-driven architectures at scale.
• Experience leading multi-quarter migration or platform evolution projects.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to turn business requirements into engineering plans.
• Experience managing engineers across multiple time zones with async rhythms.

Responsibilities

• Owning the technical direction and roadmap across Core Services: Edge Caches, Realtime Services, Enterprise Key Management, International Data Residency, and Image Proxying and Uploads.
• Leading a multi-system migration of Flannel to Loom while maintaining full reliability for millions of users.
• Driving delivery and execution with a focus on reliability, including sprint planning, launches, incident follow-ups, and runbooks improvements.
• Owning on-call operations and incident management for Tier 0 services; managing rotations and incident responses.
• Partnering cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Compliance, Security, AWS, and other infrastructure teams.
• Representing the team in leadership reviews, planning, and executive forums; building compelling business-technical cases.
