Job summary

Mercury is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead teams building onboarding, KYC/KYB, AML, and fraud-detection systems. You’ll apply AI/ML to speed up real-time account approvals and partner across Product, Risk, and Data to design scalable, compliant platforms.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural clarity, and help evolve risk tooling to meet evolving regulations and business needs. This is a high-impact, highly collaborative leadership role.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of software development experience.
• 3–5+ years of engineering management in a high-scale tech environment.
• AI/ML expertise with production deployment of models.
• Experience with KYC/AML/risk or compliance systems in fintech is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead 4–8 engineers per team, overseeing onboarding, KYC/KYB, AML, and fraud-detection workflows.
• Apply AI/ML models, including LLMs, to speed real-time application approvals.
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, and Data teams to design scalable, compliant systems.
• Shape next-gen KYC/risk platforms that are reliable, extensible, and easy to evolve.
• Foster operational excellence, improving uptime, accuracy, and system quality.
• Mentor managers and engineers to grow technical and leadership capabilities.
