Job summary

Lockheed Martin RMS in Camden, NJ is seeking an Engineering Planner who will serve as a Customer Account Manager for program managers and department leadership. This role owns the relationship, drives delivery of products and services, and coordinates staffing, cost data, and reporting.

You will collect and validate data, prepare labor reports and support financial and schedule planning. A clear communicator with DoD clearance eligibility will thrive in this environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
  • 1–2 years of account management, client support, or cost-management experience.
  • Proficient with Excel, including pivot tables and data presentation.
  • Clear written and verbal communication for senior leaders.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance ( SECRET ).

Responsibilities

The Work Systems of Systems Department is seeking an Engineering Planner who will act as a Customer Account Manager (CAM): the primary liaison between our program managers and department management. The CAM will own the relationship and ensure successful delivery of products and services. Core responsibilities include:

  • Account Ownership: Serve as the single point of contact for assigned program managers, understanding their mission goals, technical constraints, and budget cycles.
  • Data Collection & Reporting: Gather and consolidate relevant performance and financial data (e.g., labor charges, cost allocations); validate the information and share it with product leads and management for trend analysis and decision making.
  • Financial Management: Prepare labor-charging reports, verify cost allocations, and ensure billing accuracy in accordance with contract guidance.
  • Staffing & Resource Coordination: Partner with engineering and staffing leads to align labor forecasts with program needs; support the Monthly Staffing Report for the Combat System Integrated Engineering Directorate.
  • Performance Tracking: Compare weekly actuals to monthly staffing and financial plans; identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply agile methodology principles to evaluate planned vs. actual delivery; suggest process enhancements to improve efficiency and value delivery.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in account management, client-facing support, or cost-management roles supporting technical programs
  • Proven ability to collect, validate, and present data using Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables) and other reporting tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of preparing clear presentations for senior leadership
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level - U.S. Citizenship required

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with cost-management and labor-charging processes in a defense or aerospace environment.
  • Familiarity with agile development practices and ability to translate program milestones into actionable deliverables.
  • Proficiency with collaboration and issue-tracking tools such as Atlassian JIRA (or comparable platforms).
  • Knowledge of staffing and manpower planning concepts; ability to interpret workforce reports.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of an integrated cross-functional team.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder-management capabilities.

  • Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
  • Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
  • Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
  • Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $60,600 - $106,835. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
