Job summary

UL Standards & Engagement in Evanston, IL (hybrid) seeks a Senior Manager, Engineering to lead a diverse portfolio of safety standards and interdisciplinary projects. You will guide technical strategy, oversee complex initiatives, mentor engineers, and engage with stakeholders across industries to advance safe, sustainable standards.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to translate research into actionable safety standards while staying ahead of regulatory developments and industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; minimum 9 years of related technical work experience.
• Minimum 2 years people management experience.
• Experience with product safety, standards development, or regulatory compliance.
• Experience developing or applying relevant standards including UL, ISO, IEC.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive Engineering strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
• Serve as technical lead for complex projects across technical disciplines.
• Oversee end-to-end projects from planning to delivery with timely, high-quality outputs.
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing engineering team.
• Represent UL Standards & Engagement at industry conferences and forums.
• Stay current with industry trends and regulatory requirements relevant to safety standards.
