Job summary

Wenzel Industries in Jefferson, Wisconsin is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our engineering function and support the growth of our precision machining operations. This leadership role drives engineering strategy, process development, and capital projects while partnering across the organization to improve productivity, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field, at least 7 years in

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 7 years of progressive engineering experience in manufacturing.
Minimum 3 years of engineering leadership or management experience.
Strong knowledge of CNC machining, precision manufacturing, tooling, fixtures, and production systems.
Experience managing cross-functional projects, budgets, and capital investments.
Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Precision machining or metal manufacturing experience.
Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma expertise.
CNC programming, automation, ERP/MRP systems, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop the Engineering team while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Manage engineering projects from concept through implementation, ensuring objectives are achieved safely, on time, and within budget.
Partner with Operations, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales to improve efficiency, throughput, quality, and profitability.
Evaluate manufacturing methods, tooling, fixtures, equipment, workflows, and production processes to optimize performance.
Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Review customer requirements and develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.
Oversee engineering documentation, design reviews, technical standards, and product changes.
Provide technical leadership and problem-solving support for complex manufacturing challenges.
Develop project budgets, capital expenditure requests, and implementation plans.
Support customer visits, audits, technical reviews, and new business opportunities.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, customer, and regulatory requirements.
