Job summary

Upchurch is seeking a senior technical leader to build and run the Mission Critical Systems Integration division, delivering BAS/EPMS/DDC/PLC controls for hyperscale data centers. You will write technical standards, hire leads, and establish the engineering organization from the ground up.

You will lead design, integration, and QA across complex projects, collaborate with clients, and guide OT network security and commissioning. Remote work with travel up to 15% nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or 8+ years controls leadership
• 10+ years total in BAS/EPMS/DDC/PLC controls engineering
• Leadership on large-scale hyperscale data center programs
• Experience leading engineering teams, QA/QC, and client-facing communication
• Direct AWS/hyperscaler controls program experience
• PE or equivalent
• Experience standing up an engineering department or standards program from scratch

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain division engineering standards — hardware and panel design, network architecture patterns, software and templating standards, and documentation formats for hyperscaler needs.
• Lead first-of-a-kind programs with technical reviews at design and pre-commissioning milestones; intervene on high-risk projects.
• Hire, assign, and develop the engineering staff; co-own the MCSI Academy curricula and trainee certification.
• Represent Upchurch engineering in hyperscaler reviews, basis-of-design workshops, and vendor audits; support estimating and business development with technical strategy.
