Job summary

Smart Tech Contracting is seeking an Engineering Manager – Design to lead BAS and EPMS engineering for hyperscale data centers. You will guide a remote team, develop design standards, and coordinate with BIM resources and field vendors to ensure high quality, on-time project delivery.

The role requires advanced BAS/EPMS knowledge, strong leadership, and a track record with DDC/PLC systems. Travel may be required for coordination and site reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Extensive BAS and EPMS design experience, including hyperscale or data center projects.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities across remote teams.
• Experience coordinating with BIM, Revit, and AutoCAD production resources.
• Knowledge of BAS/EPMS project standards, design templates, and QA/QC processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design teams for BAS and EPMS projects including DDC and PLC systems.
• Develop client standards, design basis of design, and roadmaps.
• Coordinate IT/network interfaces, security, and BIM integration.
• Manage project communications, reporting, and team objectives.
• Mentor staff and promote continuous improvement across projects.
• Ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of assignment tasks.
