Job summary

KBR seeks a Sr Engineering Documentation Specialist in Lanham, MD to support NASA GSFC's SGSLR system. You will craft and update technical design, operation, and maintenance documents alongside engineers, ensuring accuracy and completeness of manuals and drawings.

Required are a bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of engineering technical writing, strong editing skills, and proficiency with MS Office, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat Pro. You will mentor junior staff and handle surge workloads as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years engineering technical writing experience.
• Ability to read and edit engineering drawings, schematics and diagrams.
• Proven ability to prepare draft material for internal and customer review.
• Flexible and able to adapt to new information and programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with technical documentation and manuals.
• Proficient in MS Office, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Responsibilities

• Create and update technical design, operations, maintenance, and drawing documents.
• Develop content for manuals, CDRLs, I-types, OEM documents, and parts breakdown guides.
• Gather technical information and prepare internal drafts for SME review and customer finalization.
• Lead, coach and mentor junior technical writing staff.
• Adjust to surge workloads and possible travel as projects require.
