Job summary

Daikin Applied is seeking Principal Designers to design parts and assemblies, produce production drawings, and manage BOMs for varied project sizes. Hybrid roles are available in Staunton, VA or Plymouth, MN, with leadership across product lines and standards for cost, manufacturability, and functionality.

You will develop manufacturing documentation, mentor designers, and work across engineering and manufacturing to transfer knowledge and meet weekly production schedules with a focus on

Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical Degree in Design/Drafting or Equivalent Experience.
• Associates Degree + 15 years of related design experience or BS in Engineering + 12 years design experience.
• Understanding of AMSE Y14.5 Desing and drafting standards Advance Understanding.
• SolidWorks mechanical basic understanding.

Responsibilities

• Create engineering documentation including SolidWorks modeling, fabrication, and purchase drawings.
• Translate engineering/marketing intent into manufacturing documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production schedules.
• Lead or participate in team projects and provide direction to other designers.
• Develop BOM selection logic and support documentation transfer to operations.
