Job summary

Puget Sound Energy is seeking an Engineer III to support planning, construction, operation, maintenance, and analysis of PSE facilities and assets. The role requires coordinating major project segments to meet cost and time objectives, and performing design reviews to ensure compliance with PSE standards.

The position emphasizes safety compliance, adherence to codes, and collaboration across engineering teams.

Qualifications

BS degree in engineering or PE license in lieu of degree.
Experience in planning, design, field work and cost estimating.
Strong organizational, documentation, and project management skills.
Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

Interpret and modify guidelines for existing problems or processes.
Prepare complex designs, standards, studies and analyses.
Provide detailed design reviews of technical documents.
Prepare cost estimates and evaluations for project alternatives with minimal supervision.
Plan and develop project budgets with appropriate documentation.
Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and design, operation, and maintenance requirements.
Identify weaknesses and initiate corrective action.
Share work with others to strengthen skills within the department.
Tailor solutions to PSE's business environment.
Support emergency response work including weather-driven restoration efforts.
May lead or coordinate junior engineers, engineering assistants, technicians and contractors.
