Job summary

Puget Sound Energy is seeking an Engineer III – Electric Transmission Engineering to design, analyze and support transmission facilities across our system. You will review complex documents, develop budgets, and ensure compliance with industry codes while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with contractors.

The role emphasizes safety, ethical conduct, and strong collaboration with internal teams and operations.

Qualifications

• BS degree or PE license required; PE may substitute for degree.
• Experience in planning, design, estimation and scheduling.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex transmission designs, standards, studies and analyses.
• Provide detailed design reviews of technical documents.
• Prepare cost estimates and evaluations for project alternatives with minimal supervision.
• Plan and develop project budgets with appropriate documentation.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, design, operation and maintenance requirements.
• Identify weaknesses and initiate corrective actions; share knowledge with team.
• Support emergency response and restoration efforts as needed.
• May lead or coordinate junior engineers, field staff and contractors.
