Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior Engineer, Plant Thermal Hydraulic Methods to support our client on a contract basis in Bellevue, WA. The role focuses on developing system-level thermal hydraulic methods and performing steady-state and transient analyses to support design and licensing.

Responsibilities include creating modeling strategies, integrating closure models, validating with numerical verification, and enabling automated workflows.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical Engineering, or similar field.
• 6+ years of experience in system-level thermal hydraulic modeling and method development.
• Experience with RELAP5 3D, GOTHIC, SAS, or equivalent tools.
• Strong foundation in thermal fluids and reactor system behavior.
• Familiarity with Python or MATLAB for workflow automation.
• Knowledge of NQA 1 quality assurance for modeling workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop system-level thermal hydraulic analysis methods and modeling strategies.
• Perform steady-state and transient analyses to evaluate model fidelity.
• Support method qualification and performance characterization.
• Integrate closure models and correlations into analysis frameworks.
• Develop automated workflows for model setup and post-processing.
• Document methodologies and ensure traceability and reproducibility.
• Collaborate across disciplines to align with plant design and licensing.
