Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior Engineer, Plant Thermal Hydraulics Validations to support our client on a remote basis. The role involves validating plant-scale thermal-hydraulic analysis tools with V&V activities and effective data interpretation.

The candidate will perform steady-state and transient simulations, assess codes against experimental data, and document validation results, ensuring traceability and quality in modeling workflows.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical Engineering with 6+ years experience.
• Experience in system-level thermal-hydraulic analysis and code assessment.
• Experience with experimental thermal-hydraulic data and uncertainty evaluation.
• Familiarity with RELAP5 3D, TRACE, SAS, or equivalent tools.
• Strong SQA/NQA1 quality practices in modeling workflows.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to manage multiple validation tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support V&V activities for plant-scale thermal-hydraulic analysis tools.
• Perform system-level steady-state and transient simulations to evaluate model behavior.
• Interpret experimental data to support model validation and gaps closure.
• Define validation needs, develop test requirements, align with test engineering.
• Document V&V methodologies, assumptions, results, and uncertainty analyses.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support plant design, safety analysis, licensing.
• Apply and improve SQA and NQA1 practices and ensure traceability of inputs and results.
