Job summary

TerraPower LLC. in Bellevue, Washington, seeks a Senior Engineer to develop and apply thermal-hydraulic analysis methods for reactor core design challenges and to validate codes while supporting testing programs. You will work with multidisciplinary teams and present analyses to the core team.

The role requires 6+ years of related experience with a BS (or 3+ with MS), and proficiency in Python or C++. Knowledge of RELAP, SASSYS, GOTHIC, or VIPRE-01 is a plus, along with strong communication

Qualifications

• 6+ years related experience with BS, or 3+ years with MS; PhD possible with relevant research/experience.
• Proficiency in Python or C++ is a plus.
• Experience with nuclear system or subchannel analysis codes (RELAP, SASSYS, GOTHIC, VIPRE-01) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply thermal-hydraulic analysis methods, including steady-state and transient one-dimensional network analyses.
• Conduct computational analysis of in-core thermal-hydraulic phenomena.
• Perform code benchmarking and validation for methodology development.
• Use first principles of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics to support results.
• Collaborate with other engineering groups on core, components, and testing analyses.
• Support testing programs and project planning for the reactor core.
