Job summary

Pennoni Associates seeks a Highway Project Manager/Engineer to operate from our Mechanicsburg, PA office. You will oversee the development of transportation projects, coordinate with clients and internal teams, and guide geometry, cross sections, grading, and drainage designs from concept through execution.

The role emphasizes leadership, independent work capability, and strong communication; PE license is preferred and experience with PennDOT criteria is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with PennDOT design criteria and transportation project milestones.
• Ability to plan, budget, and schedule all design phases using engineering principles.
• Ability to work independently or with teams and coordinate with clients and partners.
• Proficient use of ORD and 3D modeling tools to develop geometry, drainage and plan sets.

Pennoni Associates Is Currently Seeking a Highway Project Manager/Engineer To Work Out Of Our Mechanicsburg, Pa Office To Perform The Following, But Not Limited To

• Manage the development of transportation infrastructure projects, which includes client coordination.
• Coordinating and working with internal staff to perform needed field work, design calculations, plan preparation, quantity calculations, and submissions to various clients.
• Responsible for the overall development of all facets of a project - supervise and mentor staff with the development of geometry design, cross sections, grading plans, erosion and sediment control, hydrology and drainage calculations.
• Participate in the development of proposals and statements of interest for future projects.
• Responsible for the scope, schedule and budget of the project.

Required Attributes

• Experience/knowledge of PennDOT design criteria
• Ability to plan, budget, and schedule preparation on all phases of an engineering design project using engineering principles.
• Ability to work independently or with teams.
• Experience working with clients, and teaming partners.
• Efficient use of engineering software, including ORD and 3D modeling software.

Preferred Attributes

• 12+ years of transportation design experience.
• PE License preferred.
• Ability to work independently to solve engineering design issues and provide justification for the work, coordinate with internal staff as well as external clients and teaming partners.
• Ability to provide direction to more junior level staff during project development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Looks for and seizes opportunities to improve work products.
• Has a sense of pride and ownership in work product.
• Beginning to join professional organizations and establishing relations.
