Job summary

WEG Electric Corp. seeks an experienced Lead Engineer to provide technical leadership for complex industrial, power generation, and grid stability projects.

Based in Duluth, GA, the role requires mentoring engineers and guiding technical decisions through proposal development to commissioning. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in rotating equipment, MV drives, and power systems, with strong communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience in rotating equipment, MV drives, power systems, power generation, or grid stability applications.
• Strong knowledge of motors, generators, synchronous condensers, MV VFDs, and related electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Experience supporting customer-facing technical discussions and project execution activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership during project pursuit, proposal development, engineering execution, commissioning, and customer support.
• Serve as the primary technical resource for customers, utilities, EPCs, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Review technical specifications, assess project risks, and develop engineering solutions.
• Support MV VFD, motor, generator, and power system integration activities.
• Lead technical reviews, design discussions, FATs, and commissioning activities as required.
• Ensure engineering deliverables comply with applicable industry standards and customer requirements.
• Mentor Project Engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Coordinate and manage specialized external engineering consultants when required.
• Resolve complex technical issues during project execution and startup.
