Job summary

Duke Energy’s Grid Strategy & Advancement Engineering Application team seeks a seasoned Engineer III to support interconnection, commissioning, and computational load initiatives. The role emphasizes developing requirements, reviewing designs, and translating complex issues for diverse stakeholders.

The engineer will collaborate across functions to advance the TIRLL and Computational Load Commissioning Process, with hybrid work options and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program; PE license optional with Master’s degree considered in lieu of B.S.
• Minimum 4 years of engineering experience for Engineer III; 5–6 years for Senior Engineer without/with PE respectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical evaluations supporting interconnection, commissioning, and performance of large and computational load facilities.
• Support development and implementation of TIRLL and the Computational Load Commissioning Process.
• Review designs, study results, and documentation to identify gaps and resolve issues.
• Translate complex technical issues into clear requirements for internal teams and stakeholders.
• Coordinate activities and deliverables, preparing technical documentation to support schedules and objectives.
