Job summary

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) seeks a First Class Engineer to oversee power plant and building systems at NMIC Suitland, Maryland. The role requires independent leadership, safety compliance, and effective team direction to ensure reliable operation.

Responsibilities include emergency response, preventive maintenance, diagnostics on boilers, HVAC, and electrical components, and coordination with facility leadership for repairs and improvements.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain a Tier 3 (Secret) clearance or Tier 5 background check (Top Secret / SCI) as required.
• Experience supervising or leading engineers.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and equipment schematics.

Responsibilities

• Notify and organize personnel in response to after-hours emergency calls.
• Supervise engineer leads and assign/complete preventive maintenance tasks.
• Oversee plant and building operations for selected sites.
• Operate, service, and repair boilers, HVAC, mechanical systems, and electrical components.
• Perform advanced diagnostics across mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
